Small ideas. Practical support. Meaningful change.
Sensory Sparks is an online monthly sensory resource pack for busy practitioners who want practical, thoughtful and easy ideas to use straight away. It supports you to gradually develop confidence, make informed choices, and create meaningful sensory opportunities for the learners you support.
You don’t need to be a sensory expert! Just bring curiosity, an open mind, and a willingness to try one small idea (or two!) each month.
Sensory Sparks is not about doing more – it’s about doing one thing with purpose and doing it well!
Each month, Sensory Sparks explores a different sensory theme, such as regulation, communication, movement, sensory stories, transitions, calm spaces, light play, or low-cost sensory resources, and builds a growing bank of ideas and resources to dip into and refer back to.
As well as the monthly resource packs, subscribers have access to the Sensory Sparks Core Library, which expands your knowledge of sensory essentials, practical guides, infographics, printable tools, and low-cost ideas to return to whenever you need to.
Start small.
Try one thing.
Notice what happens.
Let the spark grow.
Who is Sensory Sparks for?
Sensory Sparks is designed for Teaching Assistants, early-career teachers, students, parents, carers, and anyone new to supporting neurodiverse individuals or those with severe and complex learning needs to build confidence in your work.
How does Sensory Sparks work?
Sensory Sparks is designed to be very flexible! There is no fixed order to follow – you decide what you need most. You don’t need to explore the whole pack in one go – but you can if you want to!
Sensory Sparks is bite-sized. Each week, use the sections that feel most useful to you, whether you need a practical idea, a prompt, a resource or a bit more help in a specific area.
Have two minutes? Choose one simple activity idea to use today!
Have five minutes? Watch the video!
Have ten minutes? Make a resource!
And don’t worry! Sensory Sparks is designed to fit into real-life school settings – we know how busy your classroom is and how little learning and planning time you have.
Each monthly resource pack includes:
Watch: A short mini CPD video which introduces that month’s sensory focus and gets you thinking.
Try: Simple activity ideas that can be adapted for different learners, spaces and confidence levels linked to that month’s theme or topic.
Use: A practical ‘Resource of the Month’, such as a planning tool, checklist, visual support or observation sheet.
Listen: Hear practical thoughts and experiences from people working in sensory practice, inclusive learning and neurodiversity.
Make: A ‘Sensory on a Shoestring’ idea using low-cost, everyday materials that you probably have in your classroom.
Reflect: A ‘Sensory Sparks Moment’ hitting the ‘pause button’ to notice what worked, what changed and what you might try next.
